Job Description: The Centre for Unified Computing, University College Cork, as part of the IBM Exascale activity is seeking a PhD candidate. This position will be co-funded by IRCSET Embark and IBM. This position will be co-funded by IRCSET Embark and IBM. Familiarity with non-traditional computing models employing data-driven and demand-driven techniques is desirable. The successful applicant must meet the IRCSET criteria and must have a 1st Class honours degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, a Masters degree will be an advantage. Applications from students with a background in graph theory are especially encouraged.

He/She should be a fluent English speaker, a proficient programmer and should have a working knowledge of functional languages and concepts. The Exascale activity will adopt a Stream Computing paradigm and will utilize streaming hardware and techniques – some of which will be developed as part of this activity.
