For more information or registration, contact Dr Stephen Neethling (s.neethling @ imperial.ac.uk). Student Time covers all tuition fees and providing tax-free scholarship of approximately £ 15,590 per annum for the period 2010/2011. AC / C + + programming skills are essential and it is highly desirable that applicants have a background fluid dynamics. The main shortcoming is that it continues to suffer from a lower extraction efficiency than competing methods. Development of a Heap Leaching Simulator for the Minerals Industry
Imperial College London – Department of Earth Science and Engineering

For 36 months

Heap leaching is a process of extracting ore. It grows rapidly due to the use of lower operating costs and investment costs compared with conventional extraction methods. The key to improving this process to accurately predict performance of the pole design and strategy to make the swim. To this end, accurate and efficient simulation of heap leaching is needed. This project involves integrating new continuum description of the unsaturated flow of liquid through a packed bed models for reaction kinetics, mass transfer and heat transfer in the stack to a complete simulation of the process to produce. It is used for different designs and explore strategies pile driving. Application forms and instructions can visit our website (http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/earthscienceandengineering/courses/phdopportunities/ phdapplicationprocedure) or Ms Samantha Dela Maine (Email: @ sam.delamaine imperial.ac.uk, Tel: + 44 (0) 207 594 7339).

Applicants are processed on arrival, provided that the following will be filled by September 2010 and December 2010.
